In January, we hosted our first-ever VIP Member Appreciation Event and began offering a special new service: lash tinting! This service has become incredibly popular at salons all over the country, but for some, the exact process and benefit of lash tinting is still unknown territory.
At Be Inspired, we use a professional, American-made product from Intensive Lash Tinting. It’s a gentle vegetable dye that only deposits color but does not lift, bringing the shade of your natural lashes just a bit darker. We custom-mix your formula so you get the best match, and your new look will last four to six weeks. Over time, this conditioning lash formula will actually benefit your lashes! Many clients find that you don’t need mascara anymore, saving your lashes from harsh products and rubbing to get the toughest mascara off. Opting for a lash tint instead of mascara might save your lashes and your time!
So what exactly goes into the process of lash tinting? When done by a trained professional, it’s quicker and easier than you might think; it only takes about 15 minutes and a few steps. First, your stylist will remove any excess makeup or oils from your eyes and prepare a cotton pad under your eye with a special balm to prevent any messes. Your formula will be mixed according to your preferred shade – most people pick a deeper color like black or blue black – and applied to your lashes using a tinting brush. While your eyes are closed, your stylist will apply the color as close to your lash line as possible without touching the skin. You’ll wait for two to ten minutes, depending on your shade and natural lash color, until it is time to remove the tint with a clean mascara spoolie and cotton swab. If desired, your stylist will touch up your makeup for you, and that’s it! For 24 hours following your lash tinting, it’s important that you don’t apply any oils, harsh cleansers, or makeup too close to your lashes to allow the pigment to set.
