We’re so excited to share our secrets from our hands-on education session with Education Director and Hair-Cutting Connoisseur, Andrew Carruthers.
After seventeen years of full-time work in a salon, Carruthers decided to take his involvement in our industry to the next level. He has worn many hats within beauty, including that of salon owner, photographer, personal and professional coach, and educator.
In his current role as the Education Director for Sam Villa®, Carruthers offers a variety of hair-cutting classes in which he touches on everything from tools to technique. Of course, our team here at Be Inspired Salon couldn’t settle on just one, so we wound up dedicating a whole day to learning a little bit of everything from one of the best in the business.
CHOPS AND CROPS
We’re on top of the trends and short hair is it. With so many of you opting to lose the length, we wanted to learn all of the best techniques for taking the leap and chopping it off.
Carruthers walked us through his process for creating his perfect pixies and beautiful layered bobs. We had so much fun learning the secrets behind sculpting and shaping short hair. We couldn’t be more excited to practice our fresh techniques on all of our short-haired gals soon!
LEAVING THE LENGTH
Of course, it takes time and dedication to grow out your hair, and we know how attached our clients are to their long, luscious locks. So, for our long-haired gals we wanted to learn the best practices for spicing things up without taking much off!
Andrew taught us his favorite tips and tricks for draping and we now have a new love for those long-haired “trims”. We can’t wait to infuse your long locks with life via light layers and lots of volume.
Our team can certainly attest to Carruthers authentic and hands-on teaching style, and we’re so thankful for the opportunity to learn from one of the greats!
