Your Hair Stylist will still be going through your entire haircut with the same focus, sectioning, precision and effort as they would if they were making a major transformation.
There’s no difference in our approach regardless of the amount of length you’re going to be removing. We may just be taking ¼” off of the ends which is what we call external cutting or perimeter cutting. But remember that we do a lot of internal cutting as well. This means we’re looking at your style with an approach custom to you. Your head may have swirls in areas others do not. We must cut this a specific way to ensure it lays properly. Or, you may wear more hair to one side over the other. That side is probably ‘heavier’ so we need to customize weight removal specifically for this situation as well. All of this requires more thought and better execution that far exceeds the ‘trimming’ of your ends.
“Trims” usually require more attention to detail.
As professionals, if we’re removing an inch or more from your hair, we see a clear guideline of where we’ve been and where we’re heading. It takes more precision, consistency and focus to produce flawless results for taking ¼” off throughout. Raise your hand if you wanted a trim and the Stylist took waaaay more off than you wanted? We’re raising our hands with you! Usually it’s due to lack of experience and/or lack of skill. There’s a reason for the saying, “you get what you pay for”…

Performing a “trim” will take us the same amount of time regardless of the removal amount. It may be a difference of opinion and we may not all agree…but, at Be Inspired Salon we hold the same regard for our Hair Stylists as we do our Estate Planning Attorneys. When you schedule time for us to provide you advice, direction and/or a service, this time is what we get paid for. This is how we earn our living. And we believe we have chosen one of the most intense professions for the following reasons.
