A great way to be proactive about having the best texture for your hair on your wedding day is getting a professional blowout service the day before!
For most of us, (non-curly textures) we need to add a starchy textured product(s) to our hair for it to perform its best and hold under ‘pressure’. Here’s why.
Think of your hair like fabric. You fall generally into one of three categories: silk, cotton or wool. If your hair seems most like silk or cotton, then we need to prepare your hair type for the big day because it’s ‘fabric’ lacks the natural ability to easily hold curl or tends to fall flat halfway throughout the day. During a professional blowout service, we wash your hair with a purifying shampoo followed by an exfoliating shampoo to really slough off all impurities, dead skin and/or product build up. This will set your hair up for the most volume potential. We condition your hair according to your needs.
Next, we’ll use a cocktail of preparation products. Two of our favorites as an example are the Maximista Thickening Spray cocktailed with the Crème for Style by Oribe.
The Maximista Thickening Spray is a thermal protective body-builder which helps expand your hair to its fullest and highest potential. As in the Oribe’s description of this product, “Bigger is better.”
The Crème for Style will offer a firm yet flexible all-day hold while taming frizz! Perfect for round brushing.
Even the brushes we use are specific to producing the most effective results while enhancing your hair’s ability to hold a style.
Finally, once your hair is dry, our stylists will mist with our Anti-Humidity hairspray, one of which will be custom to your hair type and the season we’re in. We’ll also teach you how to wrap/wear your hair at bedtime so you prevent ponytail band marks, etc…
Not only will your hairstyle be prepped for the best results on your wedding day, but your Stylist will have a much more successful starting point when styling your hair after it’s been prepped so perfectly.
