We are thrilled to share that we’ve launched amika, a fresh line of haircare products for all hair types. And we mean all!
Amika offers eleven unique collections that were created with a variety of strengths to ensure its ability to be all-encompassing for all hair types, textures, and styles.
Before we dive into their collections, here are some fun facts about amika. They were kind and clean before it was a thing! As they put it, there are no nasties in their products. All formulas avoid sulfacets (SLS, SLES, ALS), parabens, aluminum starch, and over 1,300 questionable ingredients. Amika is greener. Their packaging is 100% recyclable and no longer produces bottles with 100% virgin plastic. Every bottle is full of the most potent natural ingredients such as buckthorn—the superfruit that has fatty-acid omega 7 in it. The holy grail ingredient for healthy hair and scalp.

HYDRATION
Raise your hand if you need some more hydration? We do too! There are five core products in amika’s hydration collection. Some of the main ingredients in this line is, squalene—proven to help protect from dehydration and restore lipid barriers. It also helps moisture loss while restoring hair’s suppleness. There are also blue/green algae which provides essential fatty acids, amino acids, as well as vitamin A and beta-carotene.
SIGNATURE
Amika has a secret sauce to their products, and it started with signature—the nourishing collection. The signature collection includes ten products—a couple of which are the top sellers for amika! We’ll just share right away that the number one product within the signature collection is the perk up plus—extended clean dry shampoo. It’s a perfect fit for all hair types. We hope this doesn’t gross you out but some people have gone over two weeks without shampooing because the perk plus dry shampoo has kept their hair feeling clean and their style going.
DETOX
Did you know we offer a detox treatment? We utilize the incredible detox products amika offers in this four-product collection. Our favorite feature is that these products don’t just cleanse the skin of your scalp—they exfoliate and remove excess oil build-up for a total scalp and hair refresh.
REPAIR
As amika puts it, don’t let your hair reach its breaking point. There are five repair products in this collection. Things that standout about them is they use plant butters which are rich in omega fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. They also have a bond cure technology—an innovative complex that targets the most abundant bonds in the hair.
SMOOTH
Eliminate frizz with amika’s four smooth haircare products. Standouts from this collection include their use of an anti-humidity spray, called the shield. Perfect for our crazy hot and humid Summer months. And the best part is, you won’t weigh your hair done. Sometimes people with fine hair avoid any smooth products because you feel like your hair is already flat enough—but these products won’t flatten you volume, rather, they smooth your cuticle giving you weightless shine!
COLOR
Your investment in your hair color should be protected. And it can be with amika’s color product collection. How cool that they’ve built-in natural UV filers and antioxidants to keep your hair color locked in. One really cool product standout in this collection is the fadeblock pre-shampoo color seal. This clear product feels lighter than a gel and you put this all over your hair prior to your first post-color service shampoo. Follow up with the vault—color-lock shampoo and conditioner for optimum hair color protection.
BLONDE
Even though this collection is called blonde, it’s also perfect for greys and silvers. A double bonus that this line is also meant to repair damaged strands. It’s core purpose of course is to tone brassy hues in order to bring out the best and brightest shades of blonde, gray, and silver.
TEXTURE
Yes, please! There is only ONE product in this collection and it’s one our stylists’ favorite go-tos for creating effortless styles, tousled tresses, to beachy waves—and it’s called, un.done. Some people like to use this as their own version of dry shampoo but with a bit more grit. If you’re someone who loves a ton of volume or that sexy bedhead look—this product is for you!
VOLUME
Speaking of volume, amika has their own volume collection that includes six products. This line is all about thickness, volume and fullness. RedensylTM is amika’s very own patented blend of ingredients. This line also includes their secret sauce—the sea buckthorn which is one of the most potent natural ingredients on the planet. It is one of the few known plant sources of the fatty-acid Omega 7—the superfruit is loaded with 15 times more vitamin C than an orange and three times more vitamin A than a carrot. Their sea buckthorn is sustainably sourced from Tibet.
CURL
You may or may not know that we are raving fans of our curl community. Be Inspired Salon has been the curl destination in south-central Wisconsin since 2011. We know curls, we love curls, we invest every year in advanced curl education. So finding a product line that benefits curly hair is a must here. There are three main curl products within this amika collection. They include the curl corps, a defining cream, an enhancing gel, and the power hour curl refreshing spray. The refreshing spray is so nice for in-between cleanse and conditioning days—or after yoga or gym sessions!
HOLD
A line wouldn’t be complete without hairsprays. The hold collection includes headstrong—your most intense hold hairspray where it’s not going anywhere. And also, the fluxus hairspray which is the touchable, restyling option. We love both for a variety of reasons—that include bridal hairstyling versus everyday hairstyles. But we know that some people have their preference and with amika you have both options! If you’re like us, you’d probably keep both in your cabinet so you can grab the perfect hairspray for the perfect occasion.
