Have you heard the hair color buzz word, babylights? It’s a trending highlighting hair color technique that gives you lighter and brighter hair all throughout. The hair coloring sections are so tiny that you appear to have an all over hair color, but the perk is that you won’t have a harsh line as your natural hair color grows out.
Similar to balayage hair, adding babylights is a time-intensive process. Your stylist has to plan for perfect highlight placement and take their time to create very small sections. In other words, this technique takes some extra time and care and it’s so worth it.
Unlike balayage, babylights add a lighter outcome from the top of your head through the ends. Typically, balayage is applied a bit lower throughout the hair so you have a decent amount of “roots. Whereas babylights are closer to a highlighted look. It’s just a much softer, smaller and more subtle technique giving you a more generous outgrowth appearance in between salon visits. Therefore, the upkeep is congruent with balayage—every eight to ten weeks.
